Merciki is based on a simple principle: give back to those around you by doing things you enjoy, and collect Mercis in return. These Mercis will enable you, in turn, to receive a helping hand!
Merciki is also committed to fighting waste and unnecessary purchases by setting up a system for exchanging items you no longer need.
There's no money exchange on Merciki, you just use the Mercis you collect!

Mercis are Merciki's currency of exchange.
Each time you provide a service or donate an item, you'll receive Mercies which you can then use to receive what you need in return.
Mercis remain internal to Merciki, and cannot be exchanged for money.

To make your life easier, Merciki will suggest a fair number of Mercis for each exchange.
But you're free to suggest a different amount!
In this case, remember that a Merci is worth one euro.

Merciki adopts many of the principles of LETS, but aims to operate on a larger scale.
Our network is intended to be open, and exchanges will not be limited to members of the same neighborhood.
We'll do everything we can to make Merciki as easy to use as possible, thanks to our online platform, and we'll make sure there are enough members to make it easy for everyone to find the help they need.
What's more, a number of SELs have shown a keen interest in Merciki, and may eventually migrate to our network!

We're convinced that everyone has something to contribute to Merciki.
And doing favors isn't the only way to earn Mercis: you can also earn them by exchanging your second-hand items, and by sponsoring new members.

Merciki came into being thanks to crowdfunding in February 2019. But even if the Merciki team is made up of volunteers, running such a platform and developing such a community comes at a considerable cost (server hosting, communication and advertising costs to publicize Merciki, IT tools and subscriptions...). This is why certain categories of objects and services are sponsored by advertisers with values similar to ours. We would like to emphasize that we do not pass on your personal data to third parties.
